  • Introduction to the day from festival director, Jude Higgins and welcome to judge, Sage Tyrtle, who will introduce this month’s ‘Throw Down’ challenge. Followed by 10-15 mins drafting time.

11.30 am – 11.45 am

  • Coffee chats in Zoom break out groups with world wide flash fiction friends.

12.00 pm – 12.30 pm

  • Community Building and Resilience with Farhana Shaikh.

12.30 pm – 12.45 pm

  • Reading slots 4 world wide authors read flash inspired by world events.

1.00 pm – 1.30 pm

  • Hermit crab hangout with Jude Higgins: recipe stories.

1.30 pm – 1.45 pm

  • Reading slot – 4 world wide authors read published list stories.

1.45 pm – 200 pm

  • Lunch time chats in break-out groups.

2.30 pm – 3.00 pm

  • One sentence stories – Half hour workshop with Matt Kendrick.

3.00 pm – 3.15pm

  • Reading slots – 4 worldwide authors read a one sentence story.

3.15 pm – 3.30 pm

  • Yoga stretches with Sudha Balagopal.

3.45 pm – 4.15 pm.

  • Half-hour on collaborative writing with Meg Pokrass and Jeff Friedmann

5.00 pm – 6.30 pm

  • The Strange and Surreal: Opening the Back Door into Our Big Truths. One and a half hour workshop with Nancy Stohlman.

6.30 pm – 6.35 pm.

  • Thank you and goodbyes.

  • Introduction to the day from festival director, Jude Higgins and welcome to judge Susmita Bhattacharya who will introduce your Throw Down challenge. Followed by 10-15 mins drafting time.

11.30 am – 11.45 am

  • Coffee chats in break-out groups with world wide flash fiction friends.

12.00 pm – 12.30 pm

  • Hermit crab hang out with Jude Higgins. Using the Q & A’ as a story template.

12.30 pm – 12.45 pm

  • Reading slot – 4 worldwide authors read historical flash.

1.00 pm – 1.30 pm

  • Tails of the Unexpected with Michael Loveday.

1.30 pm -1.45 pm

  • lunchtime chats with worldwide friends in break-out rooms.

2.00 pm – 3.00 pm

  • Flash fiction Writing Workshop for Young People, hosted separately by Susmita Bhattacharya

2.00 pm – 3.00 pm (running concurrently with Susmita’s workshop)

  • readings from 4 worldwide flash authors – stories involving animals, 2.00 pm – 2.15 pm
  • half hour session 2.30 pm – 3.00 pm, details to be confirmed
