Festival Raffle

At this year’s festival in July at Trinity College, Bristol we raised money for Comic Relief to support the money raised by Funny Bone, the anthology of funny flash fiction published by Peter Blair and Ashley Chantler at Chester University. We raised £250 which was a great outcome.

Thank you very much to festival helper Danielle Miles, who was in charge of the the raffle and the bookshop, for selling the tickets and to everyone for buying them. Another huge thank you to Charmaine Wilkerson who, for the second year in a row, donated a week’s writing retreat in an apartment not far from Rome, in Italy. Robert Barrett, from Ireland, who won that prize last year, wrote about his week for this site and included some great photos. This year, Pete Domican from the UK, was the lucky winner. We look forward to hearing about his stay. Big thank yous also go to everyone who donated prizes. Meg Pokrass and Jude Higgins offered several sessions of mentoring. Flash:The International Short-Short Story Press donated a complete set of their pamphlets, Ellipsis Zine also donated a complete set of their anthologies and the novella-in-flash, ‘Sisters of Stone’, by Stephanie Hutton, Christopher Allen donated his new collection ‘Other Household Toxins, Meg Pokrass gave her new collection, ‘Alligators at Night’, Fairlight Books also donated the new novella-in-flash by Sophie Van Llewyn, Calum Kerr and NFFD UK gave books, Christina Dalcher gave a copy of ‘To Carry Her Home’, the first anthology of stories from Bath Flash Fiction Award and the A3 Review donated a selection of writing maps and writing reviews.
